Starved Rock State Park

Recently I had a chance to go to Starved Rock State Park in North Central Illinois. If you were in that area you would not believe that there was a park with canyons. That is because most of the land is farm land with no trees in sight. But the Illinois River runs through this area and Starved Rock State Park is right next door. Above is a waterfall in the Dells area of Matheson State Park which is nearby. I reccommend you visit this one in addition.

This Photo is from the French Canyon at  Starved Rock State Park.

You can also view the dam and locks located in the Illinois River from one of the outlooks. The hikes are very intense and require alot of steep climbing on your part. Make sure to bring plenty of water.
